How Can I Help?

  • Would you like to help protect our precious environment?

  • Would you like to get involved in your community to work towards sustainable land use?

  • Do you have knowledge and skills you want to share?

  • Would you like to get outdoors and meet like minded people?

Condamine Alliance encourages the community to participate in projects that improves the management of our natural resources for long term sustainability. Volunteering is an excellent way for people of all ages and skill levels to get first hand experience of our beautiful environment, learn about appropriate management and contribute to protecting our natural resources for future generations.

When you join our Volunteer Program you can help Condamine Alliance to:

  • Volunteer planting native treerestore and conserve our rivers
  • maintain and enhance biodiversity
  • rehabilitate degraded land
  • monitor and protect rare and threatened species and their habitat
  • monitor and protect endangered ecosystems
  • care for farming land
  • monitor river health and other environmental indicators
  • monitor and manage weed and pest invaders
  • build community knowledge, networks, capacity and resilience
  • OR anything else which helps to help protect our precious natural resources

Volunteers may work directly on Condamine Alliance projects in the Condamine catchment; they may work with a partner organisation to complete specific projects; or they may be placed with a local community group that leads or participates in environmental activities.

Condamine Alliance seeks to include all people from across the community, of all ages, backgrounds and skill levels that have an interest in protecting our environment. We shall endeavour to connect volunteers with opportunities that align with their personal values, interests, availability and talents and with activities that are educational and challenging.

A Volunteer for the Condamine will have the following qualities, they will be:

  • passionate about the environment
  • willing to learn new things and share their own knowledge and skills
  • happy to help out with a variety of tasks
  • able to work well with other people
  • responsible and will readily apply common sense to new situations

To ensure that all volunteers feel confident and capable to participate in volunteer activities training is provided where necessary.
